Writer: Guilherme RibeiroGuilherme Ribeiro

ATTENTION: THIS REVIEW WAS MADE BASED ON THE DEMO VERSION OF THE GAME.

Take your bread, sit on the park bench and feed your army of pigeons.

THE GAME

The Bench is a puzzle game developed by Voxel Studios and published by Noovola. Embark on an adventure full of humor and a hint of mystery as an old man who just wanted to solve his crossword puzzles, but got too involved with the pigeons. Explore the scenarios and solve puzzles to advance.

MY IMPRESSIONS

As already mentioned at the beginning, this review is based on the demo version of the game and this should be taken into consideration. Even though it is a very short demo, The Bench already shows what it is capable of. By teaching the basic mechanics of the game in a simple way, you are encouraged to observe and use the environment to your advantage and, of course, with the help of the pigeons that surround you in search of some bread. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese, which helps you to follow the story. The art combined with the good humor that is presented to us generates a feeling of fun, which goes well with the game's proposal. Even though it may seem confusing with so many elements to interact with, all the stages keep you on a certain path and, even if you don't know what to do, the stage itself will guide you through how it is laid out. The Bench is a very casual and relaxing game, very comfortable to pass the time., muito confortável para passar o tempo.

ACHIEVEMENTS

From what is indicated on the game's Steam page, it is expected that the game will have achievements. And it is clear that it will, as we can see them implemented based on various elements of the game. I can't wait to see how creative these achievements will be.

A piece of bread can take you far, believe me.

CONCLUSION

I'm looking forward to playing the full version of The Bench. I can't wait to see where this old man and his pigeons will end up in this adventure. Although I found a few bugs, I believe the final version will be very polished. I hope the main mechanic of the game, which is throwing bread so that the pigeons will come to it, will be explored in some very creative ways and that the puzzles will remain at the level presented in this demo. The Bench has everything it needs to be a very fun and entertaining game.

SCORE: 7.5/10
