Review: Ship of Fools

When we mix Overcooked with a ocean roguelike theme, the result is Ship of Fools, but how well can this mix be done?

Developed by Fika Productions and distributed by Team17.

Ship of Fools is the first project from Canadian developer Fika.

The game was available on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S.

NARRATIVA E GAMEPLAY

In the roles of the game's two initial characters, Todd and Hin, we control the ship, fighting monsters and navigating the seas with the most absurd obstacles possible.

Ship of Fools is a roguelike game style, where we will see a common progression in this type of game, advancing little by little and facing a map filled with hexagons where we will find enemies, rewards and characters from this crazy story.

CONCLUSION

Ship of Fool is a fun game, there's no denying it. Although I like similar titles, I thought the color palette left me a little short on this title, and I missed more elaborate animations. Still, Ship of Fools is a fun game, especially if you play with your friends, which makes the game even more attractive since you can assign specific tasks to each sailor. I feel that, despite having done everything right, the game doesn't bring anything new to its genre, it just makes the most of everything that has worked in roguelike games over the years, and adds elements from one game or another to enhance it.

SCORE: 70/100
