Three sheep go into space, ride a train and fall down a well. It's not a joke, it's just Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition.
THE GAME
Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition is a puzzle game developed by Aardman Animations and Mobile Pie and distributed by Aardman Animations. Playing with the famous Shaun, the sheep, and his friends Shirley and Timmy, you'll venture into levels with puzzles and humorous stories to be solved using all the characters. Each ram has a different characteristic that must be used in the best way to complete the challenges.
MY IMPRESSIONS
Before talking about the game itself, I must comment on a fact that completely spoiled the game for me. For some reason, Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition is not the game being advertised on its Steam page. Even having bumped into a game that doesn't even start correctly on the platform and finding a way to make it run, the game that starts is Home Sheep Home 2. Yes, an old version, which does not have the advertised multiplayer, does not display an entire chapter and it doesn't even have the minigames presented like volleyball, for example. And there is no news or update that shows that the developers are concerned or even aware of the problem. The disregard for this game is revolting. Having said all that, my review will be done with all of that in mind.
With several fun puzzles, Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition brings the collection of Shaun the sheep games. Most levels aren't complicated, but if you want to get three stars in all of them, you'll need to maximize your skills to complete the challenges as quickly as you can. The game does not have subtitles in Portuguese-Brazil, but this does not interfere with the gameplay. The art is very beautiful and the characters are well animated, accurately conveying their personalities.
Unfortunately, I couldn't test any of the cooperative mode for the reasons already mentioned. And that would be the biggest differentiator of the game, since Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition is a collection of old browser games. With multiplayer mode, it would have something else that would attract players. The game itself is fun, but my entire experience with it has gone to waste.
ACHIEVEMENTS
In Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition, we have achievements linked to the stages, such as winning all of them by earning three stars. We also have collectibles, which can be found in the main stages and unlock achievements when collecting them. Finally, we have achievements related to specific actions, such as interacting or not with certain objects in a level or using the fewest possible moves.
Overall, they are all pretty easy to complete after some trial and error. However, as I already mentioned, the game is incomplete, missing the entire farm chapter, that is, at the moment it is impossible to do 100% of the achievements on Steam, as we have some of them linked to the chapter in question.
CONCLUSION
Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition is not a bad game, on the contrary, it brings back that memory of simple browser games, which we had so much fun in childhood. However, all this is covered up by this flaw in the game. I apologize for being so insistent on this point, but I can't analyze a game that promises something, doesn't deliver and doesn't care about it.
This experience completely spoiled the game for me. Mainly because I only noticed this when finishing the game and checking the achievements I was missing. I felt like I wasted time. The game is not new, it has been on Steam for a long time and had this supposed implementation of a cooperative mode. This general disregard is revolting.
In the current state of the game, I don't recommend Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition, unfortunately. I swear I wish I could have more positive points, but the game that is presented is not the same game that was released. I hope from the bottom of my heart that they fix the game, because it would have the potential to be really fun to play with friends. For now, there's only this bitter taste in the mouth.
